Cottage Homestay B&B
Our new Venture!
Come and share the ‘good life’! Our small holding with informal garden, veg patch and heritage variety apple, pear and plum orchard has been organic for many years and we try to live sustainably
After over 40 years of offering self-catering and B&B holidays in the Old Smiddy Cottage we have now moved on to ‘Homestays’. Influenced by staying in ‘Homestays’ in Borneo – we decided it was much more interesting, sociable and less expensive to stay with local families.
Come and enjoy a quality 'home from home' homestay visit and experience the unique character and relaxing atmosphere of the Old Smiddy Cottage. Relax by the logburner in the cosy room, explore the garden, collect the eggs for your breakfast and watch the birds feeding.
Join us for breakfast at 8.30 in our cosy country kitchen with Aga. Enjoy a healthy breakfast of porridge, fruit from the garden, homemade bread and preserves and eggs provided by our free range hens. You can taste the difference.
Have a wonderful day out and return to share your adventures in the evening. You are welcome to bring back a ready meal to heat up in the microwave or snack for your evening meal.
We welcome travellers and single guests who wish to have a more sociable experience.
We are always busy and we would appreciate your help around the kitchen and to prepare your bedroom for the next guests.
We often have WWOOFers (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms). You may meet wonderful volunteers from all over the world who come to learn more about organic gardening and sustainable living and help in the orchard and in the garden.
£25-£30 ppn. Minimum 3 night stay.
